Few Interesting Things...Upper School
Bayshore Christian School offers an academically rigorous college prep course. We offer AP and dual enrollment classes, as well as the regular honors classes. No other private school, and only two public schools in Hillsborough County offer as many or more dual enrollment classes as Bayshore. Classes are counted for high school and college credit, and many Bayshore graduates have been able to complete their degree requirements in less than four years as a result of these dual enrollment classes.
Ninety-nine percent of the graduates of Bayshore Christian School continue on to college. Bayshore students routinely report that they were very well prepared for college, compared to other Hillsborough graduates. The Tampa Tribune recently reported that "more than half of those who enter Florida's community colleges and universities take remedial classes".
At Bayshore Christian School, a state-certified counselor guides families through the entire college application experience starting in 9th grade.
Bayshore Christian School has six honor societies : American Technology Honor Society, Honoraria Hispanica Sociedad, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Quill and Scroll.
Typical club offerings at Bayshore Christian School have included Student Council, Yearbook, Newspaper, Chorus, Bible Club, Xtreme Sports Club, Art Club, Chess Club, Drama Club, and Spanish Club.
Overseas travel opportunities are offered to upper school students annually at Bayshore Christian School, and have included trips to England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, and Eastern Europe.
Bayshore Christian School is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (1A Level) and the Bay Conference (10 area private schools). Varsity sports offered are Cross Country, Cheerleading, Golf, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Track, Baseball and Softball.
Student activities at Bayshore Christian School include the Christian College Fair, food drives, mission outreaches, a senior trip and other extensive field trip opportunities.
